SUMMARY:B4 Workshop (over Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that FUUSN will participate in the Breaking Barriers\, Building Beliefs workshop offered by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) for congregations involved in the search for a new minister. The FUUSN Search Committee invites all congregational leaders\, members\, and friends to participate in this workshop\, which is a 2-part workshop over Zoom\, on Friday\, November 17\, 7:00 – 8:30 pm and Saturday November 18\, 10:00 – 11:30 am. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions of the workshop but if you can only attend one that is fine. \nPlease register by clicking here!  \nWe all may have a picture of the ideal candidate to be our next minister. It can be easy to exclude ministers who fall into certain categories unintentionally. As we get caught up in comparing candidates to our “picture\,” we can forget what we hoped for in a minister. \nThe UUA designed the Breaking Barriers\, Building Beliefs program to promote inclusive thinking and help prevent discrimination in searching for a new minister. In the workshop\, FUUSN attendees will: \n\nConsider the hopes\, expectations\, and concerns they have for a new minister\nLearn more about the ministerial search process\, and\nExplore how creating categories and putting people in them interferes with choosing the best candidate.\n\nCome participate in this UUA-sponsored workshop led by Rev. Amanda Schuber. \nThe selection of a minister is important. The Breaking Barriers\, Building Beliefs workshop is another opportunity for everyone in our congregation to participate in this process. SUMMARY:Ministerial Search Listening Circles
DESCRIPTION:Your Ministerial Search Committee is working hard to attract the right minister to FUUSN. As part of that search process\, they need to learn what you want in a minister and what unwritten rules in our congregational culture a minister might have to contend with. \nWe are facilitating Listening Circles in October to gather information\, and we need to hear from you!  It’s a competitive market for settled ministers. Participation rates in our Listening Circles are one of the many things the ministers FUUSN is trying to attract will be studying. \nPlease sign up for one of the circles noted below by emailing Barbara Bates at B.L.Bates@rcn.com with your choice. \nParticipation will be limited to 10 people per circle so sign up soon.\nChildcare will be provided – please let us know if you need it.
