DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Storytelling:  Open to all!!\nPresenter/Teacher:  Linda Grosser\nTelling true personal stories is sharing what it is like to be human.  We connect—tellers and listeners—because true heartfelt stories\, whether joyful\, poignant\, or funny\, illuminate how we are really all the same\, not different. We surely need this in our world.   And\, crafting a personal story can also be a powerful way to find meaning in your life.  Want some tips??  Read On! \nOn Zoom and in-person attendees in Alliance Room (zoom link to be posted later). \n\nA brief introduction on how to craft a true personal story (think the Moth Radio Hour)\n\nThe essential components\, techniques for engaging an audience\, and the flow of a good tale.  Q & A as time permits.\n\n\nIn conjunction with this workshop\, we are inviting a limited number to tell a story for the FUUSN congregation at a March 30 storytelling event on the theme “Lessons from Our Lives.”  \n\nTime permitting at the March 2 workshop\, those storytellers are invited to bring a kernel (1 min max) of a story on the event theme to get some guidance from Linda in crafting your story.\nLimit around 6 story tellers for the planned storytelling event on March 30.\nIf you’re interested in telling a story to the congregation on March 30\, please send an email to Judy Friedman by February 22 \n\n\n\nYour Presenter/teacher: Linda Grosser is a storyteller\, teacher\, and producer.  Her passion for storytelling began after careers in academia and the corporate world.  She is an award-winning teller and has told stories at The Moth\, Club Passim\, and GBH ‘Stories from The Stage’\, to name a few.  She loves photography\, travel\, being with family and friends\, and doing (almost) anything outdoors. Last year\, 140 million people around the planet participated in this event live or online. \nWhat: There will be performances by some of the best contemporary artists of India: musicians\, dancers\, martial artists\, times for talks and meditations with Sadhguru\, and probably talks by some of the top Indian political leaders as well as the presence of farmers and more… \nWhen: Wednesday February 26 from 6 pm to Thursday February 27 at 6 am\nCome for a few hours or for the whole night as you wish. All are welcome including children with their parents (no childcare provided) \nWhere: at FUUSN Parish Hall\, 1326 Washington Street\, West Newton\, MA 02465 \nWhat to wear: comfortable clothing\, can be festive and colorful as you wish \nWhat to bring: there will be a vegetarian potluck\, so light vegetarian dishes or snacks are welcome\, fruits\, nuts\, vegetables\, salads with light dressing\, beverages\, water and juices (no alcohol) \nMahashivratri is one of the largest and most significant among the sacred festivals of India. The festival celebrates the Grace of Shiva\, who is considered the Adi Guru or the First Guru from whom the Yogic tradition originates. The planetary positions on this night\, which is also the darkest night of the year\, are such that there is a powerful natural upsurge of energy in the human system. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy plant-based food and lively conversations in a relaxing setting in groups of 7 to 10 people! \nSee the photo section of the PBEC web page for pictures of past potlucks. \nSign-up to attend: \n\nClick Sign-up Genius to register.\nParticipants will be hosted in members’ homes in groups of 7 to 10 people.\nParticipants will received details about the event after registering.\n\nVenue:   \n\nMembers’ homes.\n\nAll Potlucks:  \n\nPlan to bring a plant-based\, whole foods dish to share (no animal products/ingredients including eggs\, cheese\, dairy).\nBring list of ingredients and/or recipe.\nJoin our Club’s e-mail list at uu-plant-based-contact-us@googlegroups.com to sign up for an event.    After sign-up\, registrants will receive info about locations\, menu themes\, potluck contact info\, and other topics.\n\nPOTLUCK SCHEDULE FOR THIS YEAR (Aug 2024 – July 2025) \nSmall Groups:   \n\n2024 – September 22\, November 10\, December 15    \n2025 – January 12\, February 9\, March 9\, May 4\, June 1\nSmall group gatherings in homes\, typically from 7 to 10 people.\n\nLarge Groups:   \n\n2024 – Oct 20 at First Parish Waltham\n2025 – April 6 at FUUSN\, July 12 & 13 picnics at members’ homes \nTypically 30 to 40 participants for gatherings in parish halls; 8 to 15 per home for July picnics\nVenues include FUUSN\, First Parish of Waltham\, and members’ home for picnic\n\n  \n
