Save Soil Event: Speaker: Greg Maslowe, NCF Manager.  Newton Community Farm has been farmed continuously for over 350 years. Despite this long history of agricultural use, the farm’s soil is a thriving biome with high levels of organic matter. Our goal, as the current users of this land, is to ensure that it will remain fertile and productive for future generations and a beneficial habitat for the abundant more than human life in this area. What techniques does NCF use to ensure these goals? How do these relate to contemporary notions such as regenerative agriculture? And what can you do to enhance the soil health of your own home or garden?

Prathyusha Dasari, a volunteer with the Save Soil movement, will introduce this global initiative dedicated to addressing the growing soil crisis. Agricultural soil degradation contributes to an estimated 40% of global warming. What has Save Soil accomplished so far—and what can you do to help? SaveSoil.org
