Ferry Beach Fall Retreat

Many multicolored flags on wooden poles wave along a beach with grass and shrubs. A blue flag reads, "Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center - ferrybeach.org." A rainbow flag reads, "Ferry Beach - WELCOME - Awakening Hearts to Explore, Grow, and Renew the Spirit of Universal Love." A purple flag reads, "Stand Up for What's Right."A worship service with about thirty people of all ages is held in an open-air chapel among tall pines. MEET NEW FRIENDS, CONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS AND GET INTO THE SPIRIT OF THE NEW YEAR!

If you’re new to FUUSN (First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton) or TPC (Theodore Parker Church), have you heard about Ferry Beach yet? Here’s all you need to know: We all head up to the beach in Maine to spend a joyful and relaxing weekend together.

WHAT’S THE PLACE LIKE?

Ferry Beach is a small UU conference center on a seven-mile stretch of sandy beach in Maine. It’s a collection of mostly renovated wood frame buildings from the last century. The main building has a lobby with a fireplace, comfy chairs and a wrap-around porch that faces the ocean. There is a huge dining room with a nice, big porch where we share catered meals; another large indoor space for crafts, sing-a-longs and games; and a theater for dances and talent shows.

WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR?

In addition to TPC joining FUUSN (which was new in the last couple of years), our weekend has moved to September 26-29 and we are offering both 2 and 3 night packages (the 2 night package includes 5 meals, the 3 night package has 7 meals).  Like last year, the Ferry Beach chef provides vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options at every meal. Registration will be direct to Ferry Beach again this year, although we will include a place to donate to the Scholarship Fund.
