Yard Sale

Shoppers in the Parish Hall browse through aisles of folding tables covered with yard sale items such as bags, umbrellas, kitchen appliances, and artificial Christmas trees.

Member Information about Yard Sale:

Volunteer to make the Yard Sale and Holiday Fair a success.

FUUSN has a yard sale to

  1. Make low-cost goods available to the larger community
  2. Keep used items out of the waste stream
  3. Give the congregation a chance to pass things along

Your participation matters. These events have been so successful because the FUUSN community has donated, volunteered and spread the word. Sign up here: Yard Sale – Volunteer!

Watch your email and the FUUSN newsletter for information. You can sign up to setup, sort, sell and clean up.  Contact the Yard Sale team at YardSale@fusn.org for more information.

What to Donate – and Please NOT Donate – to the Yard Sale

We need and welcome your donations.  However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

  1. Donations are accepted starting the Sunday before the yard sale (after the service), through Friday noon before the sale.
  2. Books are sold only at the Holiday Fair so kindly wait until Dec. to bring them.
  3. Please, please, don’t donate things that are dirty, moldy, incomplete, broken, chipped or obsolete.  We have to throw them out – and since FUUSN pays for trash removal, such donations actually cost FUUSN money.
  4. Examples of things to donate that shoppers want to buy
    • YES: Everyday kitchen items (working small appliances, cookware, dishes, glasses, mugs…), holiday decorations, usable linens, tools, hardware, office supplies, baskets, clean garden items, gently-used toys, games, puzzles, musical instruments, crafts, handbags, backpacks, art, and decorative items.
    • NO: clothing, shoes, large sports equipment (skis, bikes, etc.), large electronics (TV’s, computer monitors, etc.), or books.

With your help, we can make it a wonderful Yard Sale!   Thank you.
