Bill Horne

My wife, Sandy, and I started coming to FUUSN in 1996. I have served on the Board of Trustees and as Moderator. I grew up in a progressive, politically aware environment. At the risk of confirming the accusations of those who know me that all I talk about is the summer camp I attended, I will say that this camp, which profoundly influenced me, had a diverse and inclusive population of campers at a time when this was unusual and probably risky. The camp’s valuing and welcoming all people is part of the reason I say I was raised Unitarian Universalist without knowing it. (For those interested in learning more about the camp, please see http://www.improbablecommunity.com/.) I am a lawyer. I worked in trade regulation law in Washington, D.C. and health care, construction and civil rights law in Boston. I am currently on the board of Lawyers for Civil Rights and an immigrant support organization, East Boston Community Council.
