Elementary school students are split into two groups by grade level for Sunday morning classes that explore Unitarian Universalist (UU) values and practices. Utilizing the national Unitarian Universalist Soul Matters Theme-Based Program, students explore concepts like hope, gratitude, compassion, and resilience through stories, games, and hands-on activities. Parents and caregivers receive a regular newsletter with information about the current theme and ways to take Sunday lessons home. Most Sundays, children join the first fifteen minutes of adult worship, which includes a story chosen for them. Once a month, the whole congregation comes together for an hour-long multigenerational worship service.
Our Whole Lives (OWL): FUUSN proudly offers OWL, a nationally acclaimed, comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education program. It offers age-appropriate, honest, and accurate information about how sexuality shapes lives. OWL’s objectives include challenging stereotypes, building self-esteem, promoting healthy relationships, and enhancing decision-making skills. Parents and caregivers review the curriculum, meet teachers, and sign consent forms before the program begins.
